Today we have set our sights on the north of the peninsula, specifically in the province of Santander (Cantabria). Cantabria is a community with a marked mountainous character and full of green nature, but also combined with coastal areas. The area is divided into three different geographical areas: La Marina, La Montaña and Campo. In fact, the entire community itself is known as La Montaña. It is, therefore, the ideal place for lovers of caravanning in the middle of nature.
For this reason, we have compiled the 17 campsites throughout Santander where you can sleep with your caravan so that you can prepare a route as you wish!
The campsites are ordered according to the opinions they had on Google at the time of publication of this article (May 2018), from highest to lowest score. In any case, none of the campsites falls below 3.3 points on average on Google. We have expanded information on the first 6, of which the score does not drop below 4. This campsite is located just 3 kilometers from Potes, the gateway to the Picos de Europa National Park. It is an ideal campsite for fishing, caving or mountaineering.
They have 106 pitches of about 60-70 square meters for camping with caravans or motorhomes. You will find many trees to enjoy the shade and availability of electricity in all of them.
The campsite also has a swimming pool (in case you go in summer), hot water in the showers, a first-aid kit and free Wi-Fi.

This campsite is located, as its name suggests, in the Oyambre Natural Park (western part of the Cantabrian coast). It is made up of 180 plots with an area of between 70 and 100 square meters.
Some of the services they make available to customers are safe, surveillance or sale of camping gas. In addition, you can enjoy free Wi-Fi. As additional information, animals are allowed in the camping pitches if you like travel with your dog.

This campsite is very close to Potes so it is ideal if you want to visit the Picos de Europa National Park. The plots have an average of between 70 and 80 square meters and have about 115, all of them with electricity. The area for motorhomes is located outside the campsite, but it has all the services that are needed when traveling in caravanning mode.
As a particularity within the services it offers is that you can rent bicycles or canoes. In addition, pets are allowed on the camping pitches.

In this campsite they have 125 plots of 70 square meters with water, drainage, electricity in each plot and, in addition, many of them have a television outlet. As they themselves comment, each plot has its own individual sink.
Other services that you will find in this campsite are mail, cycling, barbecue and supermarket, as well as free Wi-Fi throughout the campsite.
If you want to travel with your pet, it must weigh less than 12 kilos and you will have to book well in advance. Also, never forget to have a good behavior at the campsite so as not to disturb others.

It is located near Comillas, Santillana del Mar and the Altamira caves. It has 110 plots of about 80 square meters on average each. In addition to the usual services such as hot water, a bar or a restaurant, the El Helguero campsite has billiards, table tennis, dryers and an outdoor swimming pool.
Pets are allowed in bungalows, lodgings and camping pitches. They also have special prices for passing motorhomes.
